Colors and picture books were my doorway to art; art became my doorway to the world, which further stimulated my curiosity and drawn me back to art. Through art, I may express my feelings and show the world at different angles. Whether painting, drawing, or writing, I aim to promote childlike hope, trust, and peace. I’d love to capture moments that remind us of the beauty of simplicity, such as a pure moment to rest and enjoy the present, or a moment to look at the world with an inner childlike curiosity, bringing innocent joy to the young and young at heart.
I love the tangible nature of traditional media. Whether it is getting my hands covered in charcoal or feeling brushes spreading paint onto paper, all fuels up my desire for art. The process alone energizes me! Being able to mix the right color to match the right lighting and mood of a scene is so satisfying! I believe that every day is a gift from God. I depend on God’s wisdom to show how art may reveal the truth and beauty of life even though imagination has no boundaries. Knowing that God has a plan for me has given me the peace to enjoy my art journey.
It has been my dream to become a children’s book illustrator. I believe what a child absorbs at a young age will affect them for a lifetime. A great way to teach children is through good books with vivid illustrations. The creative realms of unicorns, fairies, and dragons are always so magical and may tap into imagination with life applications, good or evil. I strive to tell stories visually through art, whether it's an illustrated story or poem, a painting, or a design with a hidden narrative.
Now, as a 20-years-old, I still play on the beach like a kid and make sand balls; 100 of them is my record high. I've kept an inner child no matter what. You can see I'm a self-professed open book as I shared in the following video on how I got into Ringling and as I share my experiences in my blogs.
